About Me

Having Trouble Deciding What to Read Next?

Since I was little, I have always had a book ready to read. Sometimes I have trouble deciding what to read next, and other times my pile of books starts to get too high. But there is never a moment when I don’t have a book on the go.

In grade school, I forgo recess to help out in the school library. I spent my recess putting the books back on the shelves, and reading everything that interested me. I read my first real adult fiction novels when someone donated Jurassic Park and Congo to the library when I was in Grade 7.

I loved the Anamorph series too. I would wait each month for the scholastic newsletter to come out, so I could find out what book was featured next, and I would beg my parents to buy it for me.  Grade school was also my introduction to Harry Potter (loved it) , and The Lord of the Rings. (not so much, although it stuck with it and finished them all)

In high school, my interests changed, and I started reading every Dean Koontz book the library had. (Inspired by my love of Sci-Fi shows and movies) I was also very into Nora Roberts (my mom’s influence) and Catherine Coulter.

Since then my tastes have evolved. Each time I finish a book, I’m going to write a quick review for you. There wont be any spoilers, just a quick summary of themes and my thoughts while reading the book. These can help you decide if it’s something you would be interested in reading.

I also have a 2 year old daughter, so being a book lover, I obsessively read every parenting book I could find before she was born. And I still do. Whenever something new is released, I see if it offers a new perspective on parenting. Kids are always growing, and there will always be new challenges to solve. I will keep reading and growing as a parent, and hopefully help you decide which parenting books are worth your time.
